From tomorrow, I go to Thailand with my circle members. I am joining a volunteer circle which build houses for poor people. It's the first time to go to the Southeast Asia, so I'm very excited! I want to feel and learn something new.
I will come back home on September 10th. When I come back, I will write my experience here.
This photo is members whom I go with.

On Friday, we went to Baltimore. First, we went to the American Visionary Art Museum. Usually, I’m not interested in art so much, but I really took to that museum. There were many cheap, cute goods, and I bought some souvenirs. Masahiro bought a strange baby doll (dolls?), and it was funny. At night, we watched a baseball game. I enjoyed the game very much. I cheered for the Orioles. It was great that the Orioles won. After the game, there were fireworks. I thought the fireworks in America are a little different from those in Japan, but they were quite beautiful!
On Saturday, we went to the National Museum of the American Indian and the National Gallery of Art. There were so many attractive works that I couldn’t see all of them. After returning to College Park, we played volleyball. But I’m not good at sports, so it was not very fun but okay. We ate dinner at Potbelly. It was the third time for me to eat there, but I don’t get tired of them. ^ ^ After the dinner, I drank smoothie at the Smoothie King with Kyoko. I t was tasty but huge, so I will share with someone when I drink it next.
On Sunday, we went to the National museum of Natural History. I saw the jewelry, and that was really beautiful. My favorite part was photographs of animals. Kei and I saw them and became calm. Afterward, we went to the top of the Washington Monument. The view was great. Then we went to the Lincoln Memorial. I had heard that Lincoln’s face from the front and the side is different, and that was true. I thought the face from the side is gentler.
Today is August 11. Time has passed so fast! Everything in America is fun, and I don’t want to go home! I will enjoy myself the rest days here!

We had two classes in the morning, and we ate lunch with Dr. Hallion. I share ice cream and a sandwich with Kyoko and Misa. The ice cream was too big and sweet. In the afternoon, there was a Dr. Hallion’s class. She told us a history of

In the afternoon, AGU members and mentors went to the Kennedy Center and listened to jazz concert. I love music, so I enjoyed the concert very much. After the concert, I took a picture with a singer. She said she lived in Yokosuka, Japan! Surprisingly, a woman who works at the Kennedy Center lived in Yokohama, Japan, and the nearest stations where she lived and where I live are the next stations to each other!!
For dinner, we ate sushi. That was expensive, but tastes good. I ate California roll for the first time, and I like it. It seems a lit bit strange that I ate Japanese food in America.

Yesterday, we went to Alexandria by metro first. In Alexandria, we walked around and saw many antique shops, churches, George Washington’s house, etc. I enjoyed myself very much because I like the old town’s view. I ate seafood for lunch and ice cream for dessert with Joe and some of my friends. Then we rode on boat and went to Georgetown. I went shopping with Kyoko there. I wanted to buy some clothes, jewelry, souvenirs, etc, but the things were so expensive that I could buy almost nothing. So when we go to a shopping mall, I will buy more! Because I walked and walked too much and got tired, I and some friends took a rest with Nikki. We sat down on the grass and enjoyed playing card games like Crazy Eights and Wink Killers. After that, we ate Mexican food. It was the first time to eat Mexican for me. It was too spicy, but tastes great! Yesterday was a wonderful day. But I was very tired, I went to bed quickly as soon as arriving at the hotel.

After 12hours flight, we arrived in Washington, DC. Because of long flight, I was tired, but I could sleep well last night, I feel good now. I’m very excited to spend time here with my friends and mentors for two weeks from now. I can’t wait to look at the famous things in Washington, DC like the White House, the museums, or the monuments at closer later.
Through this trip, I hope I will progress my English skill, and I want to look at American culture, touch it, and feel it! I’m sure I can make this summer vacation great and precious!
